Dentist display

A time capsule of a dentist’s practice is presented here in all its glory. Local dentist Keith Matthews said “open wide” to his patients for 36 years, working in the two front rooms of his home in Collie. When he retired in 1973, the contents of his surgery came to this Collection. Within the drawers of the wooden cabinet are boxes and boxes of incisors and molars, along with his surgical equipment, and other tools of the profession. The wooden arms of the brown leather dentist’s chair are well worn, having been gripped by many patients over the years as they received Dr Matthews’ attention.
